Tips on How to Create a Successful Resume

1. Create multiple versions of your resume.
You should provide additional detail on specific. Be absolutely clear and honest about your capabilities and skill levels.

2. Research the position and company.
Pay attention to the job requirements, and highlight your qualifications as they reflect the hiring company's needs.

3. Be concise.
Stick to the traditionally accepted formula of 1 page for every 3 years of experience, not exceeding 4 pages ever.

4. Omit personal information.
Do not include information like sex, age, caste and country of origin.

5. Choose fonts that are easy-to-read, clean and consistent.
Don't use non-traditional or overly creative fonts.

6. Read, edit and re-read your resume to make sure it's well written, clear and typo-free.

Easy Steps to a Successful Interview

The following are perhaps the most popular of resume styles. Either is suitable, but we recommend a reverse-chronological resume in most cases, and Functional only for senior management and strategic roles:

Reverse Chronological

1. Professional Summary.
This includes bulleted list including total experience, specialization, key achievements.

2. Technical skill areas and specific skills.
These include applications, systems, languages, packages and buzz words.

3. Employment History and Professional Experience.
This starts with the most recent position, and must include client, title, job description and date, and emphasize accomplishments.

4. Education and Certifications.

Functional

1. Professional Summary.
This includes a list of primary functional skills such as functional analysis, project management, reorganization, business strategy and the like.

2. Skills and Significant Achievements.
These includes the specific skills and accomplishments for each of the primary functional skills.

3. Employment History.
This may be laid out in a tabular summary of employment, which includes employer names and dates of employment.

4. Education and Certifications.
